Ecology

In the field of our activity environmental awareness is a primary concern. Therefore not only do we pay a lot of attention to this issue but we also allow a lot of resources for the research.

Recycling solutions which we apply are more and more efficient. As the first company in Poland, we started a film production line which manufactures commercial goods from PET recycled material. Hanex manufactures three-layer R-PET film which contains 70% of PCR (post consumer recycling) and PIR (post industrial recycling) PET material. This unique product (approved for food contact) meets the requirements of  2002/72/EC Directive and WE 1935/2004 Regulation, owing to the use of the functional barrier . The research done by independent research centres, COBRO among others, proved excellent film properties .

There are three methods of PET packages recycling: mechanical (most frequently used; recycled pellet and flakes are produced as a result), chemical (consists of decomposition of polymer into monomers and their substrates), and energetic (polymer waste is burnt in special installations). Bearing in mind effectiveness and economical factors, our company applies mechanical recycling. We provide our customers with ready-made solutions related to waste recycling logistics. This is one of the most vital areas of our activity.

Each package has its functional stages at the market. PET recycling consists of several processes: collecting packages, manual and optoelectronical sorting, washing, grinding, segregation in floatation machines, secondary washing, decontamination and drying. In the last phase recovered material is re-granulated and finally decontaminated. Recycled material, recovered in this way, can be used for manufacturing new packages.

All raw materials and Hanex products fully meet the requirements of  94/62/EC Directive and can be recycled completely. That is also one of the most important requirements of the company’s “Quality Policy”.

We are aware that all industrial activity requires using resources from the natural environment and constitutes a stress for it. In order to limit the negative environmental impact of GTX Hanex Plastic Ltd., we have undertaken a number of activities. They consist of, among others, selective collection and strict registration of all types of waste (e.g. plastics, paper, paperboard, steel, non-ferrous metals, used-up oils) and to deliver the same for recycling or deactivation to entities holding appropriate permits. The waste management system is regulated by appropriate permits issued by local government bodies and compliant with current legal conditions. GTX Hanex Plastic Ltd. Also continuously cooperates with a recovery organization, thus providing a legally required level of recovery of individual types of containers and being involved in the costs of running public education campaigns.

Modern technologies implemented in GTX Hanex Plastic Ltd. do not produce significant amounts of gasses and dust emission into the air. However, we hold an account at the National Center for Emission Balancing and Management (NCEBM), where we regularly submit reports on emissions.

As a manufacturer of plastic containers, we are aware that they significantly contribute to the waste mass getting into landfills despite their suitability for recycling.  We make every effort to make our waste management corresponding to the latest world trends. Thanks to investments in our machine park, we have obtained technical ability and the permit to process PET waste into raw materials used in our production plant, which directly and significantly reduces the amount of waste reaching landfills. With future generations in mind, we are implementing a strategy of minimizing the negative environmental impact of our activities.
